Symphyotrichum novae-angliae 'Andenken an Alma Pötschke'

Bright salmon red flowers up to 90cm (36in) from September to October and growing 60cm (24in) wide. Happy in sun and most, but not dry, garden soils.

Literally 'in memory of Alma Pötschke'. The species is native to areas east of the Rockies in the US. Benefits from a generous mulch after cutting back in the late autumn.
