Succisa pratensis

Mauve-purple flowers up to 60cm (24in) from July to September and growing 45cm (18in) wide. Happy in most garden soils in sun.

“Devil's-bit Scabious”. A plant, native to the British Isles, common in the moister parts of the west and north. Copes with heavier soils and good for bees and butterflies.
