Sternbergia lutea

Deep yellow flowers up to 20cm (8in) from September to October and growing 15cm (6in) wide. Prefers well drained soil in full sun.

“Autumn daffodil” but looking more akin to a large crocus in flower. This will clump up slowly and naturalise. It can be grown in grass. Flowers best if it is well baked in the summer.
