Polypodium vulgare

Dark green, wintergreen foliage up to 45cm (18in) and growing 60cm (24in) wide. Happy in most garden soils in shade.

Adaptable and tolerant native fern. Will be happy in dry shade once established. Evergreen, but new growth can emerge quite late in spring.
