Claret red scented flowers up to 100cm (40in) from July to October and growing 60cm (24in) wide. Prefers good, retentive soil in sun or light shade.

Introduced in 1960. A plant of good value in the border. Purple flushed leaves in spring followed by medium sized flower heads in profusion over a long period.
