Persicaria affinis 'Superba' (Bistorta a. S.)

Pale pink flowers turning crimson up to 25cm (10in) from July to October and growing 90cm (36in) wide. Happy in most soils in sun or light shade.

A vigorous groundcover. Leaves turn copper in autumn and are held over winter like beech hedging. It has larger flowers than the species, and is reckoned superior to most other cultivars.
