Penstemon 'Woodpecker'

Blue flowers flushed violet up to 80cm (32in) from June to September and growing 60cm (24in) wide. Prefers well drained soil in sun.

Thought to be a seedling of P. 'Stapleford Gem', from Dr Laly Cox's garden in Warwickshire. Very blue flowers that persist well over the summer. Trim to shape once new growth starts in spring.
