Paeonia lactiflora 'Festiva Maxima'

Double white, scented flowers up to 90cm (36in) from May to June and growing 90cm (36in) wide. Happy in most good soils in sun.

A lovely Victorian double hybrid of P. lactiflora. The spring foliage can be rich mahogany, which sets off early bulbs beautifully, and the autumn colour can be equally spectacular. Will probably need support. Introduced by Miellez 1851.
