Geum coccineum

Bright orange-red flowers up to 30cm (12in) from May to July and growing 30cm (12in) wide. Happy in good garden soil in sun or light shade.

Small but intensely coloured flowers on this geum introduced from North-east Turkey by Roy Lancaster in 1977. Grows in mountain pastures in sun or light shade. Thrives best when not too dry and favourable weather may see flowering continue into autumn.
