Galanthus plicatus 'Augustus'

White flowers up to 12cm (5in) from January to February and growing 10cm (4in) wide. Prefers retentive soil in light shade.

Named by Amy Doncaster after E. A. Bowles, Augustus being his middle name. Like all Galanthus plicatus cultivars it prefers conditions a little more moist than the ordinary G. nivalis. The petals have a pretty puckered look.
