A sweetly scented species introduced from Hungary in 1573. It will scramble through supports. Plant in the perennial border, among shrubs or up a low trellis. Good ground cover.
Violet blue, scented flowers up to 100cm (40in) from June to September and growing 60cm (24in) wide. Happy in most garden soils in sun or light shade.
