Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Dark Knight'

Deep blue flowers up to 100cm (40in) from July to September and growing 90cm (36in) wide. Prefers well drained soil in sun.

A hybrid between C. incana and C. mongolica, of which this is a winning selection, being the darkest blue and most compact. The species come from east Asia. Attractive to both butterflies and bees and after flowering seed heads become a feature. Prune hard in early March.
