Camassia quamash

Bright blue flowers up to 40cm (16in) from May to June and growing 20cm (8in) wide. Happy in most good garden soils in sun.

Bulb from the west of N America that is long lived and easy. Enjoys moister soils and copes with clay. Will naturalise in grass mown annually. Plant behind front of border plants to hide foliage when it dies down in late summer.
