Allium sphaerocephalon

Red-purple flowers up to 50cm (20in) from July to August and growing 10cm (4in) wide. Happy in most garden soils in full sun.

A rare native of the Avon Gorge. Best used among earlier flowering plants to prolong flowering interest. Great with any silver or grey foliage.
